Rising Sun CP via Killingworth this morning. The latter was very busy with hods of the usual suspects being fed by a man with the fullest bag I've ever seen. He emptied it in front of the Swans, Geese and Ducks (an offence in some countries!) and was their bezzie mate from then on. Never has so much bread been scoffed by so many wildfowl in such a short time.
At the RSCP, again quite Birdy Busy but no sign of the Redpolls, Med Gull or Merlin. Several Grey Partridge in the field between the bottom of the heap and the waggonway tho', which was nice!

I've Got Wood!!
Went a searchin' for the Green Woodpecker reported at Big Waters this afternoon. Fellow birder, Davy Tee mentioned it on Birdforum and so with directions via a PM from him, off I went. And within a few minutes of getting out the car, voila, Picus viridis herself!
What an obliging, engaging, stunning and impactive specimen of ornithological excellence. The typically pathetic snaps do not do her justice - where's Jack Bucknall (now 14, I see) when you need him?
Come on JB, show us how it's done!!!!!!!!!
