Good start to the day as a Fieldfare was in my bit of suburbia for the second time and drinking from one of the ponds (hence the poor, through-the-kitchen-window, camera on 18x zoom, powdery shot above).
Good end to the day 2/1/10, as I grabbed the last hour of daylight with a wander around the patch.
Added a Mistle Thrush as it proudly surveyed the Burn from the top of a tall Sycamore. And at the WHBP, two Common Buzzards were tussling with a few Crows over the woods at the northern edge. Walking east, and to the north of the smaller Flash, a Woodcock rose from the field to my right and flew off east over the tree line and out of sight. A brief but clear view as the snow provided an excellent back drop.
Off again within the hour for another ramble.
