(S)Nabbed

12:30 > 2:30 pm today at Snab Point, most of the 'action' northbound and beyond the flags and nearer the horizon.  Even with my scope on full throttle most was quick across the surf and either white or black or black and white!

Nonetheless, four Rt Divers on the sea with the odd Eider and GBBG, and a GN Diver above it at 13:00 hrs.  Several RT Divers also flying north, along with Gannets and Scoters.

More than 50 Knot on the rocks too!

  1. Oh bugger!! You saw the GN Diver too. Do you ever go to work?

  2. I had holiday booked for Fri/Sat/Sun/today. A big all-day meeting stopped Friday and you know about Sat and Sun. I have loads of holiday left to take and 2010 is drifting away. I also have loads to do at work. The compromise today was a half work:half birding day, with a repeat tomorrow. I am seriously trying NOT to go to Sleddale for the RLBs but will probably do so pm 26/10. I am next off Th(28)/Fr/Sa/Su/M/Tue/Wed but my parents are here so not much birding Fr/Sa/Sun/M/Tu. I'll have to do some cramming early this week!!

  3. I'm off to the Algarve on Saturday, so you will have a full week to extend your lead. I hope the RLB hangs around till I get back or one closer to home is found. They were reported all down the East coast, so I'll be very suprised if there isn't some in Northumbs.

  4. I'd gladly swap the Algarve for a week at Snab! We are regular travellers to Tavira, Monte Gordo and Santa Lucia, all to the east of Faro. Where are you going to? And taking the optics?

  5. I always take the optics. We have rented a villa at Santo Estevao, near Tavira. The temprature should still be in the low twenties as well!
